Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Moosup Market, LLC ("we", "us") handles information in the Habit Together app for iPhone, Android and the web, and on this website. Habit Together is built around one rule: you decide who sees what. We do not sell your information and we do not show ads.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name or display name, username, email address, password (stored only in hashed form) and birthdate. We ask for your birthdate to confirm you are old enough to use the app and to apply teen protections.
- Sign in with Apple or Google: if you use these, we receive the name and email address that service shares with us. With Apple, you can choose to hide your email.
- Habits and activity: the habits you create, their schedules and targets, check-ins, setbacks, skipped days, notes and reminders.
- Social activity: friend connections, groups you join, reactions, comments, nudges, cheers and messages.
- Support messages: anything you send us when you contact us.
Some habits can reveal sensitive things about you, such as drinking, smoking or health goals. We treat all habit data as private, and it is only shared in the ways you choose.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information: device type, operating system, app version, time zone and language, used to run the app and fix problems.
- Notification tokens: identifiers from Apple and Google that let us send you push notifications.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and error logs, used only to keep the app working.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple, Google or, on the web, our payment processor Stripe. We receive confirmation of what you bought and when it renews. We never receive your full card number.
How we use information
- To provide the app: store and sync your habits across your devices, send reminders and notifications, and show shared progress to the people you choose.
- To keep the app safe: enforce age limits, prevent abuse and review reports.
- To provide premium features you have paid for.
- To answer support requests and send important account notices.
- To understand and fix problems and improve the app.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
Who can see your information
- People you choose. Each habit can be private, or shared with specific friends, specific groups or all your friends. New habits start private. A friend you share a habit with can see its full history, schedule and target. Daily notes stay private unless you choose to share a particular note. If you stop sharing a habit, it is removed from that friend's view.
- Groups. Members of a group can see each other's progress on that group's shared habits and its group chat.
- Your profile. Your username and display name are visible to people who look you up or are in your groups.
- Service providers. We use companies that help us run the app, such as cloud hosting, email delivery, push notification services (Apple and Google) and payment processing (Apple, Google and Stripe). They may only use your information to provide services to us.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
- Business transfers. If Moosup Market, LLC is merged or sold, your information may transfer to the new owner, who must continue to protect it under this policy.
Children and teens
Habit Together is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete it. If you believe this has happened, contact us. Users aged 13 to 17 get extra protections: for example, they cannot be found by strangers in search.
How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your information from our live systems within 30 days, and from encrypted backups within a further 90 days. We may keep limited records longer where the law requires it, such as purchase and tax records, or to deal with abuse reports or legal claims.
Your choices and rights
- Access and export: download a copy of your data from the app's settings.
- Correct: edit your profile and habits at any time.
- Delete: delete your account in the app or by following these steps.
- Notifications: turn them off per friend, per habit, or in your device settings.
Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have additional rights, such as the right to object to or restrict how we use your information or to complain to a data protection authority. Contact us to use any of these rights. We will not treat you differently for exercising them.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, hashed passwords and limited access to our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will notify you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
International users
We are based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States and wherever our service providers operate.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
